We show RFP-5 RimChecker on the
TireEXPO 2008 in Cologne!
If you informed
yourself about the "RimChecker", please spend one minute time for our
survey! Then we can help you purposefully.
The laser sensors LMU of the RFP-5 System are suitable also
to examine the rim flanges regarding the lateral and radial runout. At the RFP-5
Positioning System a mirror system is installed in front of the laser sensor,
which permits it to drive into the rim in order to examine the lateral contact
surfaces for the tire bead regarding the lateral runout.

For each type of rim uniquely a Teach In of the measuring
tracks is to be accomplished.
The system positions the laser measuring point with a
repetition accuracy of 1/10 mm and 1/10 to the rim flanges. The measuring
tracks given in the DIN 70020 part 5, section 3.6 are reached surely. For the
measurement of the radial runout it is the center of the rim shoulder and for
the lateral runout it is the center of the rim flange height. The tolerance
values given in DIN 7817 (1.25 mm radial / lateral runout) are examined with a
resolution of 1/100 mm..
Measurements at numbers of revolutions until far over 500 rpm
are possible with a guaranteed repetition accuracy of typically
0.03mm/
max. 0.05mm.
