The RFP-5 Positioning System is a part of the complete RFP-5 System. It positions capacitive measuring sensors or laser sensors to the
measuring object usually at tires or wheels.
The DMU is a combination of capacitive measuring sensor and sensor interface. An
analog output transmits the measuring signal. A parallel interface permits the
integration in a measuring machine. The DMU can execute also independently analyses of
runout, bulges and depressions. The result is transmitted via a serial interface
RS232 or RS485.
The lasers distance measuring unit LMU is the combination of a laser sensor and an
interface card. It is suitable for the measurement of geometric characteristics of
tires.
The Sheet-Of-Light
Measuring Unit SMU consists of laser sensor,
high speed camera and an interface card. It is
suitable for geometrical measurements of tires and wheels by means of the
image analysis "RFP-5 TireChecker".
RFP-4
Since 1983 the RFP-4 is the reliable measuring system for the measurement of tire
geometry. Up to 1997 it was produced in many versions, either for the analysis of
passenger car-, truck- or motorcycle tires. In the meantime these versions are replaced by
RFP-5.
